Sox Softball adds USM Slugger Kaley Fruge to Coaching Staff

P360 Performance Sports announced today the addition of Kaley Fruge to coach Softball teams this Fall. She will also be providing private hitting lessons and will participate in Group sessions, camps and clinics in Hattiesburg.



Kaley is a native of Stuttgart AR and a redshirt junior outfielder on the Southern Miss Softball team. Lettering four times in high school, she was named First Team All-State all four seasons, amassing a .602 batting average along the way. She amassed 41 doubles, 21 triples and 10 home runs in her high school career before joining USM in 2018. As a freshman she appeared in 37 games including 19 starts, batting .280 with a .320 slugging percentage. A member of one of the best teams in USM history in 2019, she sustained a season ending injury after 8 games...batting .389 with a double and 3 RBI before being injured playing #16 Baylor in mid-February.



Bailie Springfield, the Sox Softball Director, coaches and provides pitching instruction in Hattiesburg. From East Webster High School, Springfield pitched at Itawamba and Delta State before finishing her career at the University of Southern Mississippi. She was a Clarion Ledger Dandy Dozen as a high school pitcher, as well as the 2A Pitcher of the Year four times by the Starkville Daily News. Springfield was named the MHSAA Class 2A Pitcher of the Year and was named the Defensive MVP in the NEMCABB All-Star Game. She was named an All American by both the NCFA and NJCAA in her career.


Mary Grace Turner is the Hitting Director and coach for Sox Softball. She coached the 10U team last summer that won the Sox Softball program's first tournament championship. From Greene County High School, Turner played at Pearl River CC in 2018 before transferring to William Carey University. Playing in 2020 before the season was cut short, she was named the SSAC Softball Player of the Week in March, batting .667 in a sweep of MUW. She batted .264, including 8 doubles and 3 homers - leading the team in 16 games in 2020.
