The P360 Fall Wood Bat League Announces Gulf Coast Fall Wood Bat League

The P360 Fall Wood Bat League is on its way to the Gulf Coast, with registration opening today. Coach Brian Rea is the league commissioner, with the help from facility director Sean Steverson. Games will be played at local high schools, with opening night slated for October 25, 2022. All high school players are eligible to play in the league, beginning with 9th graders. Teams are built by primary and secondary positions from players, and coached by P360 coaches. While this is the first season on the Gulf Coast, for P360 the 17th season got underway in September. The P360 Fall Wood Bat League is back for its 17th season inSeptember, bigger and better than ever. 2021 saw 18 teams take the field, with 10 teams in Jackson and eight teams debuting in Hattiesburg. For 2022, teams will be added in Auburn AL and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The league will have the capacity for 32 teams, with a maximum of 448 players competing against top level local high school players from 9th grade to seniors.
In 2021, Hattiesburg fielded eight teams in its first season, and will increase to 10 teams for this season. The Orioles came away as Champions, losing a tight game at Trustmark Park against the Jackson Braves to finish as the runner up for the Overall Champion. Jayden Mark (Petal HS) was named the division Most Valuable Player. The Most Valuable Hitter award went to McKinley Geiger (Oak Grove HS), hitting .455 in the league. Henry Cutrer (Purvis HS) was named the Most Valuable Pitcher with a 3-0 record, 12 strikeouts and a 2.33 ERA.
The Jackson Braves won the Overall Championship over the Hattiesburg Orioles at Trustmark Park in Pearl. The Most Valuable Player in the Jackson Division was awarded to Evan Rogers (Northwest Rankin HS) for his performance on the mound and at the plate, including a 1.62 ERA and 21 strikeouts. The Most Valuable Hitter was awarded to Rives Reynolds (Jackson Prep) for his .522 performance including 2 home runs. The Most Valuable Pitcher went to Matthew Azordegan (St. Andrews), recording a 0.00 ERA and 23 strikeouts.

For 2022, Jackson and Hattiesburg will field 10 teams at each location, with a Championship playoff between the top 2 seeds from each division. Both divisions sold out. Jackson teams will play their season at Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland, and Hattiesburg will play at the University of Southern Mississippi, Pearl River CC and Mississippi Gulf Coast CC. Opening Night in Hattiesburg will be September 6. and in Jackson on September 8.
New for this season will be divisions in Auburn and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. A maximum of 6 teams will be formed in each division. The top 2 seeds from each division will play for a Championship. Registration is now open in all new divisions.
P360 Performance Sports is the home of the SBG and SSG Sox Youth and High School Showcase Programs. Facilities are in Jackson, Pearl, Hattiesburg, The Barnett Reservoir (under development), Ocean Springs (under development), Pascagoula and Auburn AL. The facilities are equipped for instruction in Pitching, Hitting, Fielding and Speed & Agility training for players of all ages. Daily Classes are held Monday-Thursday in all locations, providing group skills training for SBG and SSG Sox players, which is included in their membership.
Professional Instructors are on staff to provide individual private training for players. Several additional training programs are available to all members. In Pearl, Hattiesburg and Auburn, Performance Training for athletes is offered by professional staff trained in this discipline.
In 2021, over 1,800 players participated in the various programs and leagues provided by P360 Performance Sports, including the Southeast Collegiate League with college players with NCAA eligibility playing in Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee and Alabama.
