Led by Major Leaguers Chris Snopek, Ryan Theriot and Scott Copeland, the inaugural season will have teams based in three cities that will be organized as divisions: Jackson, Hattiesburg and Baton Rouge. Graduated High School Seniors and College players with remaining NCAA eligibility play on teams in their geographic area. Teams will play two 7 innings games in their Division each week (on Mondays or Tuesdays) and one 9-inning game played against another division team on Thursday nights.
Player Development Officer Anthony Izzio will oversee the health and safety of players for the league and assist the commissioner in player placement. Izzio, former assistant coach for Tulane, coached and recruited for Pear River CC, East Mississippi CC and played high school at Vancleave before playing at MS Gulf Coast CC and South Alabama. He has served as pitching coach, strength and conditioning coach and recruiting coordinator in his college coaching careet.
Collegiate Players can train at Traction Sports Performance in Baton Rouge and Hattiesburg with a MSCL Package, and can use the P360 Performance Sports hitting and pitching facilities in Jackson, Flowood and Hattiesburg.
All games will be scored using GameChanger, with stats, leaderboards and standings posted.
