P360 Performance Sports is excited to announce the addition of Coach Steve Cooley as a Catching and Hitting Instructor at its Hattiesburg facility.
Steve Cooley has coached high school baseball for 27 years, including 17 years at Sumrall. He has coached in 10 South State Championship wins and 7 State Championships including the USA Today #1 ranked team in 2010 and Max Prep National Champion Teams in 2009 and 2010. Coaching offensively, his teams hold 3 state records for Batting Average: .431 (2010), .395 (2009) and .374 (2008). "I coached with Steve for many years and know his passion for player development", stated Larry Knight. "He completes an outstanding staff at our facility and is a great addition to the team."
Specializing in Catching and Hitting, he teaches the fundamentals of progressive receiving, V Position and throwing. He instructs hitters on their mental approach and on-plane mechanics.
In addition to providing instruction, Coach Cooley is a member of the SBG Sox High School Showcase Program staff for the 2024 Summer Season, joining Chris Snopek and Larry Knight in the Mississippi Division of the nationally recognized program. Chris Snopek commented, "Larry continues to build a strong team in Hattiesburg with Coach Cooley joining us. Our roster of incredible coaches for our Showcase Teams just got better, and I know the players are going to enjoy learning the game from Steve."
P360 Performance Sports is the home of the SBG Sox Youth and High School Showcase Programs. Facilities are in Jackson, Pearl, Hattiesburg, The Barnett Reservoir (under development), Ocean Springs (under development), Pascagoula, and Auburn and Birmingham AL location in Hoover, Pelham and Sylacauga. The facilities are equipped for instruction in Pitching, Hitting, Fielding and Speed & Agility training for players of all ages. Daily Classes are held Monday-Thursday in all locations, providing group skills training for SBG and SSG Sox players, which is included in their membership.
Professional Instructors are on staff to provide individual private training for players. Several additional training programs are available to all members. In Pelham, Hattiesburg, and Auburn, Performance Training for athletes is offered by professional staff trained in this discipline.
In 2023, over 1,800 players participated in the various programs and leagues provided by P360 Performance Sports, including the Southeast Collegiate League with college players with NCAA eligibility playing in Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Alabama.
